Donations are needed for the shelter from mid December. If you can keep donations until then we would be grateful, if you need to donate before then please contact us and we can sort out delivery or collection.
If you wish to donate money throughout the year it can be done either way below:
Monetary donations allow us to buy in the foods, drinks and other essentials we need to operate during the Shelter. Any surplus money is banked and saved so that we can continue our Saturday work with the homeless throughout the year.
In order for the shelter to run these are the items that we require every year over the Christmas period.
From the 22nd to 24th December all donations can be taken to Queens Road Baptist Church between 10.00am and 4.00pm daily. From the 24th to the 28th donations can be accepted from 8.00am till 10.00pm.
Your generosity allows us to help others. All of the following items are gratefully received.
Clean quilts, blankets, sleeping bags, pillows and sheets.
Coats, jumpers, fleeces, t-shirts, trousers, socks, underwear (new only please), hats, gloves and scarves.
Look in your bathroom cabinet, that’s what we need!
Toothbrushes, razors, soap, shower gel, aftershave and shaving foam.
Towels, face cloths, perfume, sanitary items and deodorants.
We provide over 600 meals plus extra snacks and more than 3,000 servings of tea/coffee over 5 nights.
Non-perishable items should have a use-by-date of December 2017 or beyond. Perishable items should be donated on or after 24th Dec with use by dates of 29th Dec or later (if possible).
